You are invited to attend this event by David and Susan Shi, Michael Cogdill and Emile Pandolfi as well as the Executive Director and Board of Trillium Arts Centre Susan Buser, Loretta Blakely, Tommie Reece, Jim Showalter, Cindy Kavanagh, Morgan Kutzner, Jim Campbell, Sheila Springfield, Scottie Shirley, Bob van Norden and Kris Cassell ******************************* Michael Cogdill is one of the most honored television storytellers in America. His cache of awards includes 24 Emmys and the National Edward R. Murrow for a broad range of achievement, from live reporting to long-form storytelling. His work proves the power a message can hold when it reaches the human heart. His first foray into the world of the written word is a charming children’s story, “Cracker the Crab”, which will also be available for purchase and autographing at this event. "She Rain" “As with our minds, we allow the majority of our hearts to lie fallow, seldom explored or used for their greatest good. Readers of She-Rain discover three people, survivors of crunching hard times, who venture out toward the edges of what the heart can hold. There to find that we human creatures -- so prone to the self-destruction of lust, envy and revenge – hold a stunning capacity for beauty.” ******************************* Emile Pandolfi will be signing copies of his CDs and talking about his recent visit to Prague and his new recording with the Prague Symphony. Emile has captivated audiences for years with his wit and magical music, both here at home and around the nation. His most recent project involved a trip to Prague, where he had the fascinating opportunity to record with the Prague Symphony. ******************************* White Oaks Constructed in 1957, this 9,750 square-foot mansion has served as home to the president of Furman University and his family since it was bequeathed to Furman in 1992 by Homozel Mickel Daniel. White Oaks has hosted ambassadors, governors and even a president. The stately house was built by Daniel Construction Company, which was founded and headed by Mrs. Daniel’s husband, Charles E. Daniel. The design of this opulent residence was based on the restored Governor’s Palace in Williamsburg, and the home is further adorned with lovely antiques and numerous fine oil paintings that the Daniels collected.. The entire house and gardens will be open for you to enjoy at this event. ********************************* Proceeds from tickets and donations made this evening will go to the non-profit arts organization, Trillium Arts Centre. Books and CDs will be available for purchase from the respective artists. |
